Works / Book Titles

The Hobbit

THFE – First Edition (2017 Facsimile)
TH –  The Hobbit, Harper Collins 2013 Deluxe Edition, Illustrated by Jemima Catlin
HotH – The History of the Hobbit, John D. Rateliff; Harper Collins 2011 one-volume Kindle edition.
EtH – Corey Olsen, Exploring J.R.R. Tolkien’s ‘The Hobbit’; Houghton Mifflin Harcourt 2012 Hardcover Edition

The Lord of the Rings

LotR – The Lord of the Rings, Harper Collins 2005 one-volume Kindle edition, based on the 2002 reset text

[NB: I have paperback editions of the individual volumes of LotR, but it seems senseless to cite those as they come from an older setting of the text and so will naturally tend toward more errors. Therefore I intend to continue to utilise the Kindle edition until such time as I buy a physical copy of the one-volume edition.]

The Silmarillion

TS – The Silmarillion, Harper Collins 1999 paperback edition

Unfinished Tales of Númenor and Middle-Earth

UT – Unfinished Tales, Harper Collins 1998 paperback edition
